De Nederlandse technologie-ontwikkelaars en -producenten Demcon en VDL Groep bundelen hun activiteiten voor lasersatellietcommunicatie in FSO Instruments. Met de oprichting van dit eerste technologiebedrijf in Nederland voor lasersatellietcommunicatie wordt voortgebouwd op baanbrekende technologie die TNO heeft ontwikkeld in samenwerking met bedrijven, waaronder Demcon en VDL. Dat past in het Nederlandse streven om een positie te bekleden als wereldmarktleider voor de serieproductie van hoogwaardige FSO (free-space optics) instrumenten voor lasersatellietcommunicatie, waarvoor concrete belangstelling bestaat bij Amerikaanse en Europese bedrijven. Gus van der Feltz is aangesteld als directeur van de joint venture FSO Instruments.

VDL Nedcar maakt een transitie door van onafhankelijke autoproducent naar een brede partner in duurzame mobiliteit. Hiermee neemt de toegevoegde waarde én de toekomstbestendigheid toe van ’s lands enige personenautofabriek waar voor derden de seriematige assemblage plaatsvindt. De verbreding van activiteiten bij VDL Nedcar in Born wordt zichtbaar op drie gebieden: de assemblage van voertuigen voor verschillende opdrachtgevers, diverse duurzame mobiliteitsoplossingen in het Mobility Innovation Centre (MIC) en het faciliteren van de groeistrategie van zusterbedrijven, werkmaatschappijen die ook onderdeel zijn van VDL Groep. De afgelopen jaren zijn gronden aangekocht en trajecten voor vergunningen doorlopen om deze brede activiteiten bij VDL Nedcar in Born onder te brengen.

Green Road Equipement is making great strides in the electrification of road construction equipment. They have partnered with VDL Special Vehicles for the production process of these electric machines. When installing the latest technologies such as electrification and hydrogen fuel cells in on- and off-road vehicles, it is naturally important to keep up with new technologies in terms of production. VDL Special Vehicles is therefore continuously renewing and innovating the production process, in order to always be able to apply the latest zero-emission technology and optimize the production process. This enables VDL Special Vehicles to guarantee constant quality and speed up project lead times.

GreenTeamTwente is a multidisciplinary team of ambitious students from the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences. They are a pioneer in the field of sustainable future and mobility. With the development of a hydrogen racing car, they want to share knowledge and educate people at all levels about hydrogen to spread our vision of the future of sustainable mobility.

Afgelopen donderdag hadden we een enthousiaste groep mbo-ers op bezoek. Mbo-ers van PitstopMbo oriëntatiejaar van de Rooi Pannen. 

Met maar liefst 193 nieuwe generatie VDL Citea’s zal EBS in december 2023 de nieuw gevormde concessie Zaanstreek-Waterland starten. De voertuigen, volledig gebaseerd op een elektrische aandrijflijn, zullen vanaf september worden geleverd. Voor VDL Bus & Coach is dit de grootste order elektrische voertuigen tot nu toe.

22 November, Colruyt Group organised its Zero Emission Transport event in Ollignies. During this event, a new hydrogen refuelling station (HRS) at the distribution centre was opened. Zero-emission vehicles were also displayed, including a hydrogen-powered truck made by VDL. The filling station and truck are part of the H2Haul project, co-funded by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
